What does the modern Japanese garden masterpiece Murin-an look like to overseas artists from different backgrounds? The theme of their works is “expressions of nature created with human hands”; a theme that is common to both Western paintings and Japanese gardens.
There will also be a gallery talk held during the exhibition period.

Place: 8-tatami mat space in the main building, 1st floor
Artist: Anne Laure Sacriste. Born in Paris. Graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She creates works that question the boundaries of contemporary painting expression. In Kyoto, she is researching the spatial expressions of Mirei Shigemori and Isamu Noguchi. She is also a participating artist in Nuit Blanche KYOTO.
