Noh is a form of theater developed among nobilities in the Japanese gardens in the 14th centuries. Such treasure to have well-known Noh performer brothers Udaka lead this lecture series at Murin-an! The basic elements of Noh such as the structure and world of mystical storytelling are introduced using actual masks and Kimonos. The appealing aspect of Noh can be interpreted by each viewer despite seemingly strict mannerism. Seasonal Japanese sweets and tea matched with the lecture theme are provided.
This lecture focuses on “Verse”. Enjoy the challenge of creating a verse/song based on the Memorial Stone etched by Yamagata at this session.
