「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」／Wednesday: Wild Bird Lesson

10月16日（水）の午後、母屋8畳にて野鳥講座を行いました。今回はニュウナイスズメについて。東山周辺では、周囲にいるスズメとは違い、秋から冬に見られるスズメです。まもなく林縁や水田がある里山地域でも見られる時期になります。ツバメとの関係や、由来となった、ほくろ斑（にゆ／にゅう）の無いスズメからのニュウナイスズメのお話に興味を持っていただきました。
毎週水曜日に開催している「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」は14:00~14:30の30分、母屋1階の8畳の間で行っています。1種を取り上げてその野鳥の解説や生態の面白さなどを、お庭を眺めつつ、やってきた野鳥の解説も行いながらお話をしています。

Murin-an Wild Bird Mini-lecture
On the afternoon of October 16 (Wed.), we held a wild bird mini-lecture in the 8-tatami mat space of Murin-an’s main house. This week’s lecture covered the Russet sparrow. This is a different species of sparrow than that which inhabits the Higashiyama mountain area that is seen from here autumn to winter. Our participants were interested to hear about the Russet sparrow’s relationship to the swallow and also that its Japanese name, Nyunai (or “no spots”) sparrow, stems from its lack of black spots.
Murin-an’s weekly Wednesday “Wild Bird Mini-lecture” is held from 2:00-2:30 PM in the 8-tatami mat space in the main house of the first floor. We choose a wild bird species and discuss interesting characteristics about it and its ecology while also looking out at the garden and explaining any wild birds that happen to fly by. Our first twenty participants get an original postcard featuring the Murin-an wild bird discussed that week! Feel free to drop in.

3日間、母屋1階8畳の間にてあたたかい煎茶を召し上がっていただきながらお庭の解説をいたします。入場料・煎茶・お干菓子2種・10分のガイド付きで1400円でご提供させていただきます！京都の朝をプライベート空間として心地よいひとときをお過ごしくださいませ。

ミャンマーからの留学生が徳地直子教授のもと、庭園について学ばれました。

京都大学フィールド科学教育研究センターの、京都大学Wild and Wise 共学教育受け入れプログラム事業（SDGｓへ向けた森林と人間の共生：奥山・里山の暮らしと木から生まれる文化）・森里海連環学教育研究ユニットの共催によって、ミャンマーからの留学生が徳地直子教授のもと、庭園について学ばれました。
植彌加藤造園社長加藤友規も 「文化財庭園の良き保存と良き活用 〜 名勝無鄰庵庭園の事例 〜 」 をテーマに解説を行い、庭園をご案内いたしました。

Students from the Kyoto University Field Science Education and Research Center’s Wild & Wise Collaborative Learning Program (SDGs for Forest-Human Coexistence) and students studying abroad from Myanmar came to Murin-an with Professor Naoko Tokuchi to learn about gardens.

Ueyakato Landscape president Tomoki Kato gave a lecture on “Good Preservation and Active Utilization of a Cultural Property Garden: The Case of Murin-an: Nationally Registered Place of Scenic Beauty.” He then provided a tour of the garden. These students visiting from Myanmar, who are studying forestry at home, were particularly impressed by the many years of restorative pruning we have performed at Murin-an.

ツバキの果実

今年もツバキの結実したものが黒い種を覗かせてくれました。
午前中、まだ割れていないものがいつの間にか開化し、数時間も経つと次々に割れて種が苔床へ落ちていました。

Fruits on the Camellia
Once again this year, there are black seeds peeking out from Murin-an’s camellia.
In the morning, one of the seeds that still had not cracked open suddenly burst into bloom and then, only a few hours later, there were several seeds that consecutively split apart and fell on the garden’s moss floor.

流れそうじ

三段の滝から流れ出た沢の流れ掃除の様子です。
涼しい風を受けながら、セキショウの隙間に入り込んだ落ち葉の除去や、葉が黄色くなったものを摘み取り、流れがスムーズになるように施しました。

Cleaning Murin-an’s Stream
Here are some pictures of the marsh where Murin-an’s three-stage waterfall flows into being cleaned. Our gardeners removed fallen leaves from the Japanese sweet flag and picked away yellow leaves so that the water stream flows smoothly.

無鄰菴在釜／Tuesdays: Japanese Tea

10月15日（火）は無鄰菴在釜の日です。
先週の在釜の風景から。
小雨模様の在釜でしたが、いろんなお客様が来てくださいました。
中でも「1人で無鄰菴に来たかったので実現できてよかったです」とおっしゃってくださった女性の方が印象的でした。忙しい日々の中、時間を見つけて足を運んでくださったことに感謝するとともに、少しでも気分転換やリラックスしていただけると嬉しいな、と思います。
無鄰菴在釜は毎週火曜日午前中に開催しています。どなたでも気軽に参加していただけます。無鄰菴のお庭を眺めながら、お抹茶を召し上がってください。

無鄰菴茶道教室

10月11日（金）、母屋2階にて茶道教室を開催いたしました。お点前のお稽古の内容の中、客人をもてなす心として、お茶を点てた際に中央に盛り上げた泡の向きなどの説明もしていただきました。

日本庭園集中セミナープラスin京都にご参加の皆さまがご来場くださいました！

京都造形芸術大学付属の研究センターである日本庭園・歴史遺産研究センターが主催する外国人向けの庭園集中講座「インテンシブセミナー」において無鄰菴で講座が開かれました！
2週間、みっちり日本庭園の基礎を学ぶコースとして各国の方々が、学びを深めに無鄰菴にお越しになりました。
京都造形芸術大学 環境デザイン学科教授の尼崎博正先生と弊社 加藤友規 社長から日本庭園の設計や建設の技術を、無鄰菴を例として解説しながら母屋2階と庭園内で学習と体験をしていただきました。
