季節のしつらえと限定茶菓子

無鄰菴では、四季折々の「しつらえ」でお客様をお迎えさせていただいております。明日は二十四節気の「秋分（しゅうぶん）」にちなんだ季節の花のしつらえを母屋にてお楽しみいただけます。また「秋分」に合わせたこの日限りのお茶菓子（限定数）もご用意し、皆様のお越しをお待ちしております。当日は、じょうよ饅頭に焼印をいれたススキのお茶菓子をご用意致します。尚、こちらの茶菓子席は無くなり次第終了です。ご了承下さいませ。

(Seasonal Tea Sweets Day） Shubun 秋分 (Frost)

Spend a truly Japanese afternoon with appropriately seasonal sweets in a room decorated with seasonal flowers. At Murin-an, you can savor the season’s blessings with all your senses. Tomorrow’s theme is ” Shubun” (秋分), Frost season in Japan’s 24-season calendar.
Enjoy sitting next to our new flower arrangement in the main house while exploring the delicate taste of wagashi (Japanese sweets) balanced by the pleasantly bitter taste of matcha tea, and also enjoying the soothing view of the garden.
First-come-first-served, there is only a limited availability of tea sweets, which are exclusively created for Murin-an garden.

「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」／Wednesday: Wild Bird Lesson

9月18日(水）の午後、サンコウチョウについて解説させていただきました。
全長の2/3が尾羽で占めているオスはコバルトブルーの目がとても印象的で、解説時に優雅に飛翔している写真をご覧いただいた時には、歓声が上がるほどでした。
京都からのお越しの方が多かったため、大文字山や東山へ散策される際、どのような環境で発見できるか等もお伝えいたしました。
ご参加いただいた方から、「説明が大変分かりやすく、初めて聞くものばかりで大変嬉しかったです」「知らない事を知る喜び、楽しい一時でした」などのコメントをいただきました。

毎週水曜日14:00~14:30、母屋1階にて、「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」を開催しています。1種の野鳥を取り上げて、その生態の面白さについて解説をします。講座中、庭におりたった野鳥の解説も実施しますので、その後の庭園散策の楽しみが倍増します。
お越し頂いた方には先着20名様に、その日取り上げた野鳥のオリジナル絵葉書をプレゼントしています！入場料のみでご参加いただけますので、お気軽にお立ち寄りくださいませ。

ナミアゲハの休息

8畳間の北側にあるオオモミジの葉上にて。
朝日で日向ぼっこをしているナミアゲハ（アゲハ）を見つけました。太陽の光で体が温まるまでじっとしていましたが、数10分後には羽ばたきをしてモミジ周辺をゆっくり飛んでいました。その後は花の蜜を求めて無鄰菴庭園の外へ・・・。夜の間、お宿として寝泊りされた珍客でした。

A Citrus Swallowtail Takes a Rest
On top of the leaves of the large maple tree on the north side of Murin-an’s 8-tatami mat space, we found a citrus swallowtail basking in the morning sun.
It lay still there until the sun rays had warmed its body up, and then flapped around the maple tree. Later, it flew outside Murin-an in search of nectar from floral nectar. It was a special guest that came to Murin-an to spend the night.

クロガネモチの剪定

受付窓口から見えるお庭にクロガネモチの大樹がございます。
茂りが目立ってきたので剪定を行いました。低木がダメージを受けないようにカバーをし、樹冠部分から不要な枝葉を切り落としていきました。
下から覗くと、少しずつ日の光が射し込む量が徐々に増し、明るい感じへと変化していきました。

Pruning the Kurogane Hollies
In the garden visible from Murin-an’s reception window, there is a large Kurogane holly. Its foliage was starting to look overgrown so we pruned it. We covered shrubs to avoid damaging them and then removed unnecessary branches from the tree’s crown.
Looking at the tree from below, we could see the gradual increase in the amount of sunlight pouring through it and the brighter feeling that resulted.

土曜日の苔庭づくり

9月7日（土）の午後、苔庭づくりを開催いたしました。本日は海外からのお客様で、苔庭づくりは初めてとのこと。世界にはたくさんの種類の苔が生育している事、そして無鄰菴庭園内の木漏れ日が射しかかる所に広がる苔を見て驚かれたご様子でした。
洋館内では5種類の苔を使用して、大スケールでの苔庭づくりがスタート。まずは庭石を選んでいただき、想像力豊かな苔庭が出来上がりました。「初めてでしたが、とても楽しめました。イメージして作るのが難しかったけど、作っていくうちにどんどん想像力が湧いてきました。」とのコメントをいただき、とても喜んでいただけたご様子でした。

Moss Garden Making on Saturday
On the afternoon of September 7 (Sat.), we held moss garden making sessions in Murin-an’s Western-style building. On this day, we had some guests visiting from abroad who told us that it was their first time to make a moss garden. They seemed surprised to learn that there are so many varieties of moss in the world and to see the moss spread out in areas of Murin-an where sunlight dapples through the leaves.
The moss garden creation started on a grand scale by using five moss species. We first had them choose garden stones, and their choices resulted in a richly imaginative garden. They really seemed to enjoy it and told us that while it was difficult, their imaginations were inspired by the creative process.

無鄰菴for庭ヤングジェネレーション　水面に映る月を愛でる満月の夜

9月13日（金）に引き続き、14日（土）にも満月をメインとしたライトアップイベントを開催致しました。当日はみなさまお月様をご覧になりましたか？なんとも美しい満月でしたね！

本イベントは将来に文化財を育むため、相対的に利用の少ない若年層の方の来場を促進する目的で実施致しました。結果、当日は予想を遥かに上回る沢山の方々にご来場いただき、「文化財を守りながら公開をする」という無鄰菴の活動を、身近に体験していただく良い機会とすることができました。

ご来場のお客様からは「若年層限定という試みが珍しく面白いです」「文化財というと緊張するけれど、今夜を境に親しみが湧きました」「維持する為に人に楽しんでもらおうという努力、応援しています」「ニュースレター登録しました。次回が楽しみです」とご意見をいただきました。

尚、毎月28日「庭（ニワ）の日」は35歳以下入場料無料です！(要ID提示）

Murin-an for Young Garden Fans: An Evening of Cherishing the Full Moon Reflected on the Water’s Surface
Following up on our moon-viewing event on September 13 (Fri.), we held an illuminated full moon event on the 14th (Sat.) too. Did everyone see the moon on this night? What a truly beautiful full moon it was!

This event was held for the purposes of nurturing cultural properties to encourage young people, who come to gardens in relatively small numbers, to come to Murin-an. As a result, we had a far higher number of participants than expected. It became a great opportunity for all to experience the Murin-an’s activities in support of “preserving cultural properties and while also making them available to the public.”

Also, the 28th of every month is “Garden Day” for everyone under 35 years of age! (presentation of ID required)
Keeping coming to Murin-an to enjoy all its season and times of day!
