無鄰菴茶道教室／ Saturday’s tea ceremony classroom

母屋2階にて、裏千家宗名・千葉宗幸／若手庭師によるお教室を開催いたしました。お稽古の中では、お点前体験の他、「六古窯（ろっこよう）」のお話をしていただきました。これは、古くから生産が続いている代表的な6つの窯の事で、「瀬戸焼(Seto)」「常滑焼(Tokoname)」「越前焼(Echizen)」「信楽焼(Shigaraki)」「丹波焼(Tanba)」「備前焼(Bizen)」があります。お稽古の合間に、千年にわたり、各産地にて育まれてきた技術・文化のお話をありがとうございました。

We held a tea ceremony class on the second floor of the main building with Chiba Soko (Urasenke tea school practitioner name). In his lesson, in addition to teaching tea ceremony etiquette, he discussed the “Six Old Kilns of Japan.” These are Japan’s most representative kilns that have been running since ancient times: Seto, Tokoname, Echizen, Shigaraki, Tanba and Bizen. We thank him for his discussion of the techniques and culture that have been fostered over a millennium in each of these production areas.

The Murin-an tea ceremony is held every Saturday. Come around to the garden and savor a cup of freshly whisked green tea.
