五山送り火のからけし（消し炭）

今年8月16日の送り火は満月と重なり、雲の隙間から月が時折顔を見せる送り火となりました。厄除けや魔除けなどのお守りと知られている送り火のからけしは、奉書紙に巻いて水引きをかけて、表門の柱に掲げています。また、透かし鬼灯（ホオズキ）を10畳の飾り棚でご覧いただけます。

(Staff Eyes) Cinder Ashes from the Daimonji Festival

On August 16, the ceremonial “okuribi” bonfire for the Daimonji Festival was joined by a full moon that occasionally peeked through the gaps between the clouds.
We wrapped the cinder ashes from the “okuribi” fire, which are known to be a good luck charm that wards off disaster and evil, inside Japanese “hoshogami” paper and tied them in a decorative “mizuhiki” cord. You can see it on the display Murin-an’s gate. Also you can see Chinese Lantern plants in 10tatami room.
