「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」／Wednesday: Wild Bird Lesson

1月15日（水）の午後、野鳥講座を母屋1階8畳間にて開催いたしました。冬鳥として飛来するオカヨシガモについて、他のカモ類とは違う特徴をお伝えしました。話の途中、庭園内にカワセミの飛来もあり、室内からその様子を探す事もございました。
今回がちょうど100回目の野鳥講座。過去の野鳥解説時にお渡ししたポストカードから本日のものを含め、数枚お気に入りのものをご参加の方々で選んでもらってお持ち帰りしていただきました。第2回目に解説をした「水しぶきをあげるカワセミ」のイラストが皆さまお気に入りの様子でした。
毎週水曜日に開催している「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」は14:00~14:30の30分、母屋1階の8畳の間で行っています。1種を取り上げてその野鳥の解説や生態の面白さなどを、お庭を眺めつつ、やってきた野鳥の解説も行いながらお話をしています。

Murin-an Wild Bird Mini-lecture
On the afternoon of January 15 (Wed.), we held a wild bird mini-lecture in the 8-tatami mat space of the main house’s first floor. We discussed the characteristics of the Gadwall, a winter migratory duck species that visits Murin-an. During the discussion, a common kingfisher arrived in the garden, which we looked for from inside the main house.
This was our 100th wild bird mini-lecture. We had participants select their favorite postcards from among those handed out at mini-lectures in the past, and including the one for this lecture, to take home with them. The illustration of the “Kingfisher splashing water” from our second mini-lecture was everyone’s favorite.
