連続講座「日本庭園通史」⑤明治～大正時代「七代目小川治兵衛と近代日本庭園」

1月18日（土）の午後、国際交流会館にて弊社社長により連続講座を開催いたしました。　前回の庭園のおさらいも兼ねて、時代による庭園の特徴をお伝えし、本題では、七代目小川治兵衛が携わった文化財や疏水園池群れにおける水利権の利用状況、作庭家の活動区分による庭園群の変遷について詳細をお伝えいただきました。
ご参加いただいた方から「借景の樹木剪定の話は興味深かった」「現場での経験と、きちんと整理されている話を聞ける機会が貴重でした。また他の講座も参加したいです」などのコメントをいただきました。

Seminar Series “Japanese Gardening History: Ogawa Jihei VII and the Modern Japanese Garden”
On the afternoon of January 18 (Sat.), at Kyoto International Community House, we held another lecture in our ongoing seminar series with Ueyakato Landscape President Tomoki Kato. He summarized the main points from his last lecture with an overview of the characteristics the Japanese gardens from each historical period and explained the use of irrigation rights in the cultural property gardens and other gardens using canal water that Ogawa Jihei VII was involved in.
Our next and final lecture in this “Japanese Gardening History” series will be held on March 20 (Fri./holiday) and will cover “Fostering Gardens by Using Their Historical Background.”
