週末庭園巡り

9月29日（日）の午前中、週末庭園ガイドを開催いたしました。こちらは無鄰菴の自然風のお庭を、庭園コンシェルジュの解説とともにお庭を巡るイベントです。本日は天気の崩れが心配でしたが、タイミングよく晴れ間での中で開催ができ、お庭の隅々までご堪能くださったご様子でした。
ご参加の方から、「京都に遊びに来る度に寄らせて頂きたいお庭です。ありがとうございました。」とコメントいただきました。

Weekend Garden Guide
On the morning of September 29 (Sun.), we held weekend guided tours of Murin-an garden. These are tours of Murin-an’s naturalist-style garden that feature explanations given by an expert garden guide.
While there was some concern about the weather deteriorating today, with excellent timing, we were able to hold these guided tours during bursts of clear weather.

無鄰菴茶道教室

9月27日（金）、9月29日(日）の茶道教室の様子でございます。 今回は茶巾の扱い方についてご指導いただきました。たたみ方では指先に集中し、お茶碗を拭き取る動作では、絵柄が自身の正面に戻すように心がけるご指導をいただきました。

Murin-an Tea School
Here are some scenes of our tea ceremony classes held on September 27 (Fri.) and 29 (Sun.). This time, participants got instruction about how to handle the tea cloth (chakin). Our instructor taught us how to fold the tea cloth mainly using the fingertips and, when wiping the tea bowl, how to bring the picture design back so that it faces you.

ニュイブランシュ KYOTO 2019

京都市とアンスティチュ・フランセ関西が毎秋に開催しているイベントです。無鄰菴では母屋及びお茶室にてアントニー・ボダン氏の作品展示をおこなっています。布地にフェルトペンで仕上げた作品、白黒にペンキで塗りつぶされたオブジェなどの作品を無鄰菴の雰囲気に影響されながら展示をされています。

作品展示は9/28（土）～10/20(日）※予約不要／入園料別途要
夜間開場10/5（土）※要予約／無料／ライトアップ付き

Nuit Blanche KYOTO 2019
Nuit Blanche KYOTO is an event held every autumn by Kyoto City and the Institut Francais Kansai. At Murin-an, we are holding an exhibition of works by Anthony Bodin in the main house and tea room. Works completed by applying felt pens to a canvas and objects covered in black and white paint are both influenced by and exhibited at Murin-an.

無鄰菴きもの教室-生活の中に文化を！-

9月26日（木）、母屋2階できもののお稽古を開催いたしました。
秋に向けて、その色彩や絵柄のお話もしていただき、最後には着物のご紹介などもあり、お茶を召し上がっていただきながらお時間を過ごしていただきました。

Murin-an Kimono School
On September 26 (Thurs.), we held a kimono wearing lesson on the second floor of the main house. Our instructor discussed the colors and patterns for autumn and concluded by displaying actual kimonos. Our participants enjoyed the lesson as they drank match tea.

赤トンボの休息

お庭には数種の赤トンボの飛翔や止まりがございます。数日前からお茶室近くのお庭をお気に入りとして、ナツアカネのオスが見られることが多くなりました。他のオスが近くを飛翔する際、追いかけて自分の縄張りを保守している様子もございました。少し園路を進むと、別のオスがお気に入りの場所を確保していました。

外周高木の剪定のつづき

9月24日（火）にご紹介した外周高木はたくさんあり、引き続きアラカシの剪定を行いました。
「三段の滝付近の剪定をするよ」とお声掛けいただき、しばらく経ってからその場所へ向かうと、沢飛石の北側が明るい空間へと変化していました。
アラカシの葉は厚く、茂りすぎると光が林内へ届かなくなります。光だけでなく風も通すように剪定をしているため、枝葉がくっきりと見えるようになりました。時々開けた場所から隣木とのバランスを確認し、この日の作業は終了しました。

「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」／Wednesday: Wild Bird Lesson

9月25日（水）、母屋1階8畳間にてジュウイチについて解説いたしました。
カッコウの仲間であるため、「托卵」（他の野鳥の巣に卵を産んで、代わりに育ててもらう）でヒナから巣立ちを行う野鳥です。成鳥は猛禽類に擬態をしている事、孵化した時から本能的に巣内の卵やヒナを排除してしまう事、ある程度大きくなっても巧みに育ての親から餌をもらう方法などをお話いたしました。
ヒナのだまし行為が巣立ち後もしばらく継続することのお話に、とても興味を持っていただいた野鳥講座となりました。

毎週水曜日14:00~14:30、母屋1階にて、「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」を開催しています。1種の野鳥を取り上げて、その生態の面白さについて解説をします。講座中、庭におりたった野鳥の解説も実施しますので、その後の庭園散策の楽しみが倍増します。
お越し頂いた方には先着20名様に、その日取り上げた野鳥のオリジナル絵葉書をプレゼントしています！入場料のみでご参加いただけますので、お気軽にお立ち寄りくださいませ。

Murin-an Wild Bird Mini-lecture
On September 25 (Wed.), we held a mini-lecture in the 8-tatami mat space of the main house’s first floor on the Malaysian Hawk-cuckoo. Because this wild bird is a relative of the cuckoo, it fledges its chicks from the nest through brood parasitism (laying eggs in other wild birds’ nests and having them rear one’s chicks). We discussed how adult birds of this species mimic raptors, instinctively exclude eggs and chicks from theirs nests from the time they hatch, and how they skillfully manage to get fed by the parents who raise them even after they grow a little larger. Our participants at this mini-lecture were very interested to hear how these acts of chick deception continue even after these birds leave the nest.

クサボケの開花

芝地に株立ちをして生育しているクサボケは現在、大きな果実をつけていますが、初夏の頃に咲いたものが結実したものでございます。
ふと目を向けると、初夏ほどではありませんが、晩秋にも花を咲かせる性質があり、１輪の花が咲いているのを見つけました。
低い位置に咲いているので、芝地の園路を巡られる時は、少し足元を注意してみてください。朱色の花びらが目印です。

外周高木の剪定

「9月になっても、今日は午後も気温がかなり上がりそう」と
お話をされた後、葉の茂りが一際目立っていたアラカシの剪定を行っていただきました。
「思った以上に剪定が必要で、かなりの量になりました」とお話されつつも、周囲のバランスを丁寧に見ながら切り枝の運搬作業をされていました。

連続講座「日本庭園通史」③桃山~江戸時代「離宮庭園について」

9月21日(土）の午後、弊社社長 加藤友規による日本庭園通史講座を開催いたしました。
前回までの復習も兼ねて権力の象徴としての庭園、宮廷庭園、書院造庭園の発展について各々の庭園をスクリーンを通して解説を行いました。
橘俊綱と白川上皇の庭園論議での論議の中で、日本庭園は地形も重要な要素に入ることを学んでいただきました。
次回は「日本庭園通史」 4 庭園見学 金地院、南禅寺 方丈庭園「小堀遠州とその時代」についてお話いたします。
