無鄰菴茶道教室
1月12日（土）に茶道教室を開催いたしました。
お茶室でのお稽古を行い、茶釜の沸き立つ湯の音を聞きながら、湯気が温かな空間を醸し出していました。今日も皆さま熱心にお点前のお稽古をされていました。
毎週土曜日、午前9:00～午後16：30の間でお稽古を開催しておりますので、お好きな時間にご参加できます。お気軽にお越しくださいませ。

翡翠の訪問客
朝の無鄰菴は靄がかかって、すっかり冬の色です。そんな中にキラキラと輝く青い鳥がいました。カワセミです。ゆっくりゆっくり近づいてそっとシャッターを切りました。あっという間に飛び去って行ったカワセミはまた来てくれるでしょうか。

Kingfisher Visitors
In the morning, Murin-an is covered in a mist that makes for a wholly wintery scene. That green bird we see shining amid the scenery is a kingfisher. We approached the bird as slowly as possible and then let our shutter fly.

カルガモの休憩所
アカマツ大樹の近くでは時折、数ペアがゆったりと過ごしに飛来します。このカモの種類は一年中日本で過ごし、クチバシの先端が黄色であるのが特徴です。

A Rest Stop for the Spot-billed Duck
Occasionally, a pair of this duck will flitter by the big red pines in the garden.
This duck species live in Japan all year round. The tip of its bill is characteristically yellow.

「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」／Wednesday: Wild Bird Lesson

無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座
1月9日の午後、今回はホトトギスについてお話を致しました。カッコウの仲間のこの野鳥の特有の習性や判別方法など、仮親から育つ雛鳥から成鳥までの過程などをお伝えさせていただきました。
ご参加いただいた方から「全くの無知でしたが、素晴らしく勉強になりました。野鳥の事、興味が出ました。」「これから野鳥に興味を持てそうです。楽しいお話を聞くことが出来て大変良かったです。」とのお声を頂きました。
次回も水曜日14：00-14：30に母屋１階の８畳間にて、イワツバメについてお話させていただきます。

Album Murin-an Wild Bird Mini-Lecture
On the afternoon of January 9 Wed.), we held a mini-lecture on the lesser cuckoo. We discussed the characteristics and distinctive traits of this cuckoo family member, such as its growth process from being raised by adoptive parents through adulthood, and also how to know when you are looking at one.
Our next session will also be held on Wednesday from 2:00-2:30 PM in the 8-tatami mat space on the first floor of the main building and will cover the Asian House Martin.

霜降り立つ庭園
気温がぐっと下がった朝の庭園内は、雪景色とは違った銀世界で皆さまをお迎えする時がございます。開園から僅かな時間ですが、サツキや苔、芝が冬の醍醐味を静かに醸しだしております。

Frost Falls Upon the Garden
In the morning, when temperatures fall inside the garden, there are times when the garden greets its visitors not with a snowy landscape, but a world of frosty silver. It only lasts a short while after the garden opens, but the satsuki azaleas, moss and grass quietly create the true charm of winter.

「水墨画の美に楽しむ」第3回

水墨画を楽しむ。第3回
シリーズ最終回の水墨画講座では、村田 隆志先生(大阪国際大学 准教授)のご指導のもと、毛筆を使用してフユイチゴや鶴、竹、動物などの描き方を教わりました。
力の入れ具合により、練習でも様々な作品が出来上がり楽しい絵画の時間を過ごしていただきました。ご参加下さった方から「水墨画の自由さを美しいお庭を見ながら教えて頂きとても楽しかったです」「初めての水墨画体験でしたが、とても分かりやすくご指導頂き楽しかったです」とのコメントを頂きました。

Enjoying Ink Painting, No.3
At our final ink painting seminar, Prof. Takashi Murata (Osaka International University) taught us how to use a writing brush to draw rubus buergeri (a species of raspberry), bamboo trees, cranes and other animals.
This was a fun painting session where participants produced many works while they practiced controlling the amount of force they applied to their brushstrokes.

1月5日（土）に茶道教室を開催いたしました。
今年初の茶道教室の様子です。振る舞いや袱紗の基本を見つめ直し、細やかなお稽古や手ほどきを受けながら時間が過、気がつけば夕方になっておりました。
午前9:00からお稽古を開催しておりますので、お好きな時間にご参加できますので、お気軽にお越しくださいませ。

While we were reviewing basics such as tea ceremony etiquette and how to use the fukusa wrapping cloth, evening rolled around before we knew it.

ダイサギとコサギの佇まい
お庭にシラサギと呼ばれるサギが同じ場所に飛来しました。お目当ては、どうやら餌となる水生生物のようです。
サイズが大きく、この時期に嘴が黄色くなるのは「ダイサギ」です。
「コサギ」の嘴は、年中黒色です。並んでいると身体サイズの大小が一目瞭然です。
