「無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座」／Wednesday: Wild Bird Lesson

11月28日（水）の午後、無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座「コガモ」を開催いたしました。日本にやってくるカモの中では一番小さいサイズの種類であることとメスの子育ての解説に興味を持っていただきました。途中、クイズ形式で進行させていただき、楽しいひとときを過ごしていただきました。ご参加の方から「案内の方が分かりやすく意欲的に説明して下さり良かったです」「楽しいお話をありがとうございました」とのお声をいただきました。次回は12月5日（水）14:00~14:30に開催いたします。

Wednesday: Wild Bird Lesson（Common Teal）
On the afternoon of November 28 (Wed.), Murin-an held a mini-lecture on the Common Teal. Our participants were interested to learn that it is the smallest size duck to migrate to Japan and also about how the female Common Teal raises its ducklings. We even enjoyed a fun quiz along the way.

宇高姉弟のお能講座」第3回『鬘能』』-羽衣、井筒、杜若(かきつばた)、葵上-

11月24日（土）に金剛流能楽師の宇髙竜成（たつしげ）さま、徳成（とくしげ）さまによるお能講座を開催致しました。今回は鬘物（かずらもの）と呼ばれ、美しい女性や高貴な男性、草木の精が登場し、幽玄の美の言葉が最もふさわしいジャンルでありました。次回は2019年1月19日（土）に開催いたします。

無鄰菴ティースクール Vol.6 「-お茶で心を和ませる人になりましょう- スタイルを身につける1】」／Murinan Tea School Session 6 with Tyas

11月18日の第6回目のティースクール講座では、サイレントテイスティングを行い、自宅でどのような茶器を使用しているか参加者にお伺いした後、お茶の器について学びました。ティアス先生から工夫を凝らせばお茶の楽しみ方が広がるということ、茶種によって適した器の選び方などのヒントをいただきながら、４つのポイントを詳しく教えていただきました。

We held our sixth tea school seminar on November 18. First, we held a silent tasting and then we learned about tea utensils. Tyas gave us hints about how tea can be more fun with a little added ingenuity and how to pick the right tea utensils for each kind of tea. He also taught us four especially important points to remember when preparing tea.

Our next lesson will be held on December 23 (Sun.) Let’s learn together about how to choose tea to suit each occasion!

庭師と学ぶ　フォスタリング・スタディーズ　第2シリーズ 　vol.4 「晩秋」

11月10日(土)、今回は松の葉むしりと落ち葉集め、コケの修繕を行いました。洋館内でグループに分かれ、デモンストレーションで葉むしりの方法を学んだあとは、いざ庭園内の松葉へ！手作業のため、間近の枝々からマツ独特の香りに癒されました。アカマツの幹を研ぐ松掃きのダイナミックな作業では大きな歓声もございました。落ち葉集めでは、苔の上にある葉を除去し、またスギゴケ内に入り込んだハイゴケの引き抜き作業、土壌があらわになった部分をオキナゴケを使用しての修繕作業を皆さんで行いました。ご参加の方から「梯子の上に登って木の上からとても綺麗な景色を見れて良い経験になりました。」「松の葉やコケをむしるのはとても気持ちが良かったです。自分の庭でも参考にしたいです。」とのお声等をいただきました。

10月24日（水）の午後、8畳間にて無鄰菴野鳥ミニ講座「ジョウビタキ」を開催いたしました。尉鶲（じょうびたき）について、皆さま「なるほど！」と興味を引くお話からスタートし、鳴き声の特徴や、その声からも名前の由来がある事もお伝えさせていただきました。生態の説明時には、「あまり人を警戒しないので、近くへ歩み寄って見ることが出来る好きな野鳥の１つです」とのお声をいただきました。次回は10月31日（水）14:00~14:30、「キジバト」についてお話いたします。

On the afternoon of October 24, we held a mini-lecture on the Duarian Redstart in the 8-tatami mat space of the main building. We started off with some interesting facts about the Duarian Redstart, including how the origin of its Japanese name, Jobitaki, comes from the characteristics of its chirp. Our next lesson will be on October 31, 2:00 PM-2:30 PM.

無鄰菴ティースクール Vol.5 「シーンに合わせたお茶の選び方２」／Murinan Tea School Session 5 with Tyas

10月21日の第5回目のティースクール講座では、サイレントテイスティングを5回行い、それぞれのお茶の感覚をマッピングシートに記入をして頂きました。お茶は楽しむもの。茶畑所有をされている方とのお話や茶葉への工程もお伝えしつつ、それらの茶葉で淹れたお茶も皆さんでいただきました。ご参加の方から「秋晴れの気持ちの良い風がお部屋に吹き込んで、とても良い時間が過ごせました」とのお声を戴きました。

We held our fifth tea school session on October 21. We had five silent tastings and wrote down the sensations of each tea on a mapping sheet. Everyone enjoyed talking to actual tea field owners about how tea leaves are processed and drinking tea made from their own tea leaves.

「きものを知る」第3回 -冬の装い-
10月20日（日）の午前中、冬の装いについてお話を”呉服おぎはら”荻原真衣さんからお話いただきました。冬の装いの指定はなく、暖かい色の模様がその季節の合わせものになるのだとか。たくさんの着物、そしてその絵柄に合わせる帯も披露して頂きました。ご参加の方から「着物を身近に感じることが出来ました。着てみたいです」とのお声を頂きました。

Learning about Kimonos No.3, Winter Wear
On the morning of October 20 (Sun.), we held a lecture on winter kimonos by Mai Ogihara of Gofuku Ogihara, a well-known kimono shop. We learned that there are no rules for winter apparel, that designs featuring warm colors are chosen to match the season, and may other things. Ms. Ogihara also showed us an obi sash that matches the kimono’s design pattern.

週末庭園めぐり／Weekend Garden Guide

10月21日、秋風が心地よい快晴の中、山縣有朋の庭園をご案内いたしました。お庭の構造や赤や黄色に色づいた果実もご紹介しながら、ぐるっと一周解説し、最後に母屋にて寛いでいただきました。「苔の種類の多さに驚きました。何回も寄らさせてもらいましたが、比叡山が見えるポイントを初めて知りました。作庭や借景の事が詳しくお話がきけました」とお声を戴きました。

Weekend Garden Tour: A Garden Tour by a Garden Concierge
On October 21, a day with a refreshing autumn breeze, we led a guided tour of Yamagata Aritomo’s garden. After walking around the garden while introducing its structure and red and yellow colored fruit, we headed back to the main building for some relaxation.

「土曜日の苔庭づくり」

10 月20日(土)午後、苔庭づくりイベントを開催いたしました。秋晴れの中、お庭を巡りながら造りたいエリアの区画を選択していただき、洋館でメインの苔庭づくりをスタート！石をメインに試行錯誤しながら完成へとなりました。「丘陵の高低差をつけつつ、石を目立たせるところは困難でした。本格的に学べて良かったです」とのお声をいただきました。

On the afternoon of October 20 (Sat.), we held a moss garden making event. We had participants walk around the Murin-an garden under a clear autumn sky to choose what area of it to recreate. Then we went to the Western-style building to start working on our own moss gardens!

無鄰菴茶道教室／ Saturday’s tea ceremony classroom

10月20日（土）茶道教室を開催いたしました。
秋風を頬に感じながら千葉宗幸氏から袱紗折りのお稽古をし、水差しや道具の取り合わせについてのお話で和みつつ、立礼棚（Ryureidana）を使用したお稽古も行いました。

Murin-an Tea School
On October 20 (Sat.), we held a tea ceremony lesson. We could feel the autumn breeze on our cheeks as Chiba Soko taught us how to fold the fukusa cloth used to wipe the tea utensils and the ryureidana table.
The Murin-an tea ceremony is held every Saturday. Come around to the garden and savor a cup of freshly whisked green tea.
